Hey there! it's been a while! I decided today I want to talk about my favorite books that I've been reading over the past few years! These are going to be series of books that I have fallen completely in love with! There is nothing better then a good story you can get lost in, and diving head first into tales of dragons, love, mystery, freedom, and much more! when I find a book/series I love I cant ever go back I've been sucked into the story as if I'm walking alongside the characters. I have a very diverse liking in books yet some of the concepts play together. Here are my top favorites enjoy!

The Red Queen series! Truly one of my favorites! I'm going to put the description of the first book down and then I'll share my thoughts on the stories! Of course all credit goes to the author and editing team for these specific books. I am getting my descriptions from goodreads a website and app that I am in love with.

Red queen- This is a world divided by blood - red or silver. The Reds are commoners, ruled by a Silver elite in possession of god-like superpowers. And to Mare Barrow, a seventeen-year-old Red girl from the poverty-stricken Stilts, it seems like nothing will ever change. That is until she finds herself working in the Silver Palace. Here, surrounded by the people she hates the most, Mare discovers that, despite her red blood, she possesses a deadly power of her own. One that threatens to destroy the balance of power. Fearful of Mare's potential, the Silvers hide her in plain view, declaring her a long-lost Silver princess, now engaged to a Silver prince. Despite knowing that one misstep would mean her death, Mare works silently to help the Red Guard, a militant resistance group, and bring down the Silver regime. But this is a world of betrayal and lies, and Mare has entered a dangerous dance - Reds against Silvers, prince against prince, and Mare against her own heart.

I don't know about you but that description is pretty enticing. I loved this series it was an amazing read and I could not stop turning the pages. The plot was so well thought out and all the details were carefully placed and tied in to the story line wonderfully. It has been a while since I've personally read this particular series so my brain is a bit hazy. But from what I do remember of it its a story packed full of action, love, revenge, and betrayal. It really is a phenomenal read.

Now these books aren't a series but they are by the same author and are both incredibly awesome books! they are both historical fictions and are based upon events that actually happened but the story line itself isn't real.

The huntress

In the aftermath of war, the hunter becomes the hunted…

Bold, reckless Nina Markova grows up on the icy edge of Soviet Russia, dreaming of flight and fearing nothing. When the tide of war sweeps over her homeland, she gambles everything to join the infamous Night Witches, an all-female night bomber regiment wreaking havoc on Hitler’s eastern front. But when she is downed behind enemy lines and thrown across the path of a lethal Nazi murderess known as the Huntress, Nina must use all her wits to survive.

British war correspondent Ian Graham has witnessed the horrors of war from Omaha Beach to the Nuremberg Trials. He abandons journalism after the war to become a Nazi hunter, yet one target eludes him: the Huntress. Fierce, disciplined Ian must join forces with brazen, cocksure Nina, the only witness to escape the Huntress alive. But a shared secret could derail their mission, unless Ian and Nina force themselves to confront it.

Seventeen-year-old Jordan McBride grows up in post WWII Boston, determined despite family opposition to become a photographer. At first delighted when her long-widowed father brings home a fiancée, Jordan grows increasingly disquieted by the soft-spoken German widow who seems to be hiding something. Armed only with her camera and her wits, Jordan delves into her new stepmother’s past and slowly realizes there are mysteries buried deep in her family. But Jordan’s search for the truth may threaten all she holds dear.

This book is what got me into historical fiction. I never quite enjoyed it or really ever looked into it. But I saw this book as a recommended on my goodreads feed and I checked it out and knew I wanted to read it! I have always liked history I just haven't thought of historical fiction as a genre that I would be super interested in. So when I saw this book about the after math of the world war I was automatically intrigued. My dad and I have always taken an interest in these specific parts of history. And let's jut say this book played on the best and worst parts of that time frame. It's a story based on a few different characters and each chapter is told from another point of view. The stories from each character meld together in a perfect bend of colors. I highly recommend this book!

The Alice network- 1947. In the chaotic aftermath of World War II, American college girl Charlie St. Clair is pregnant, unmarried, and on the verge of being thrown out of her very proper family. She's also nursing a desperate hope that her beloved cousin Rose, who disappeared in Nazi-occupied France during the war, might still be alive. So when Charlie's parents banish her to Europe to have her "little problem" taken care of, Charlie breaks free and heads to London, determined to find out what happened to the cousin she loves like a sister.

1915. A year into the Great War, Eve Gardiner burns to join the fight against the Germans and unexpectedly gets her chance when she's recruited to work as a spy. Sent into enemy-occupied France, she's trained by the mesmerizing Lili, the "Queen of Spies", who manages a vast network of secret agents right under the enemy's nose.

Thirty years later, haunted by the betrayal that ultimately tore apart the Alice Network, Eve spends her days drunk and secluded in her crumbling London house. Until a young American barges in uttering a name Eve hasn't heard in decades, and launches them both on a mission to find the truth...no matter where it leads.

Let me just tell you Kate Quinn is a wonderful writer this is the first book that she has written to my knowledge. This was an amazing read, the romance is so well tied into the action and horror of tying up lose ends in a war torn country. The characters are all connected to each other in one way or the other whether they know it or not. Again the stories meld together in a fascinating array of differences and similarities. Criss-crossing paths and dangerous plot lines fill up this entire book! another wonderful read!

Now this is a series i could go on for hours about i have read all but two book in Cassandra Clare's wonderful ensemble! If you want a clinic in the importance of sewing details into the tiniest of crevices or writing as a whole you absolutely needddd to read this book series! I am only going to give the description for the first book because no spoilers here!

City of bones- When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder― much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing―not even a smear of blood―to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...

Whenever I talk about this series to anyone I am so excited I can't even keep my words straight! So I will try really hard for y'all. This series is so amazing its full of all the things that the best fantasy books are made of! Vampires, werewolf's, faeries, warlocks and much more! The series itself is chalked full of action, romance, and the biggest twists and turns even imaginable! Every time I read the series over I get new hints and new insights as to why characters are the way the are! Or why certain people have ties with the ancestors of others. And I fell in love with how being yourself is encouraged and celebrated! But this series also shows the hard truth that being yourself isn't always celebrated but that you need to stand up for who you are no matter if its life or death. I love seeing the unity of people actively working to bring the different races together no matter how impossible it may seem. Ahhhhhhh!!! I'm just gonna explode, and you guys are probably tired of me talking about this series anywayssss this is the most amazing series to read absolutely captivating!

I was going to put more pictures of the 3 main installments to this series but I'm just gonna link you Cassandra Clare's page and you can find out everything (and more) about her books on the site!

Okay now I also thoroughly enjoyed this book series! And personally I really hope she makes more ;) This series was incredible accurate (to my little but still there knowledge) to the time frame it was based in! lets so the description and then ill talk more about it!

"There will be plenty of time for me to beat him soundly once I’ve gotten what I came for."

Sent on a mission to retrieve an ancient hidden map—the key to a legendary treasure trove—seventeen-year-old pirate captain Alosa deliberately allows herself to be captured by her enemies, giving her the perfect opportunity to search their ship.

More than a match for the ruthless pirate crew, Alosa has only one thing standing between her and the map: her captor, the unexpectedly clever and unfairly attractive first mate, Riden. But not to worry, for Alosa has a few tricks up her sleeve, and no lone pirate can stop the Daughter of the Pirate King.

I have never been the person to be really interested in pirates and the way things work out at sea but this book changed all of that! I was given major Pirates of the Caribbean vibes while reading this series, and it was a thrilling hole to dive down into! I fell in love with Alosa's character. With the roughness of a pirate and the charms of her mother she was quite an interesting character! This series was a wonderful read and I'm actually thinking of reading again!

The matched series!! a dystopian story full of rebellion, love, and secrets!

In the Society, officials decide. Who you love. Where you work. When you die.

Cassia has always trusted their choices. It’s hardly any price to pay for a long life, the perfect job, the ideal mate. So when her best friend appears on the Matching screen, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is the one…until she sees another face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. Now Cassia is faced with impossible choices: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path no one else has ever dared follow—between perfection and passion.

Matched is a story for right now and storytelling with the resonance of a classic.

Again I was drawn to lots of vibes from a different story divergent. But It's also completely different! It's a race for love, preservation, and time in this beautifully worded novel. this series is a good read. And also highly recommend this book series for you futuristic new world readers!

Now if you enjoyed the movie the books are a hundred times better and a hundred times more in depth!

5th wave- After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother-or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

Another dystopian thriller chalked full of action, horrible events, loss, tragedy, love, and the race for survival. I loved the dedication to the characters and their stories. There was a lot of details and it was just a good series!

Okay I've talked too long my computer is making that very clear! I am planning on doing a part 2 with my favorite stand alone books! don't forget that I now have a subscription box down below and you will be notified whenever I upload a new post! until next time bye!
